Whiskey Row Run III

The AZPL returned to Whiskey Row this past weekend and oh what a weekend it was!  The fun started Friday with a blind draw scotch doubles tournament!  24 players formed 12 teams for the competition.  The team of Rich & Rick defeated Brad Hamner & Frank Filiano for the victory!  What was only one tournament turned into 3 as we followed with 2 8-Ball singles tourneys.  In the first Brett Rittgers defeated Rocky Pescarino for the victory.  In the second Rich defeated Frank Filiano for the win. 

On Saturday we met up at JBs for their all you can eat breakfast buffet before heading over to Gurley Street for another day of tournaments! 

The team tournament started at noon with 8 teams.  The team of Israel Cerda, Casey Malinowski & Quinten Kilbride defeated Ken Holgate, Michael Kerin & Tony Begaye for the win.  Rich, Frank Filiano & Neal Krukowski finished in 3^rd. 

Terry of Gurley Street put out a great buffet that featured chicken & brats for everyone at 3. 

Around 4 pm we started up the 9-ball tournament.  It was a race to 2 on the winner’s side and a race to 1 on the loser’s side for the event that saw 25 players sign up!  Quinten Kilbride, Rich and Chris Carpenter finished 1-2-3 to finish in the money.

The main event began at 8 with a field of 30!  Rocky Pescarino finished in first defeating Rich in a rematch of their previous match, which sent Rich to the elimination side.  Chris Carpenter once again finished in 3^rd. 

Thanks to everyone who participated in Whiskey Row Run III this past weekend!  This is definitely one of those events that’ll continue to get better every time.  The pics should be online by the time you read this article!
